this is a small shop in eastwood that just sells mixture of korean food. cheap prices. they used to do handmade noodles and dumplings - not sure if they still do.

Nak Won Korean Restaurant Top Ryde

i incidentally discovered this restaurant just outside top ryde shopping centre. if u walked through the piazza away from the food precint, past springfield and turn left you ll find this restaurant. they have only been open for 1 month.

good prices around $13 for basic meals. they seem to specialise in ssam which is around $17 pp min 2 people.

we had the soft tofu soup and stir fried squid. the best thing about this place is the total of 10 side dishes!

the owner is really polite too!

Food

Modern vietnamese restaurant which specialises in wrap your own meals.

Previously I had tried the sugar cane prawns which came with rice paper and lettuce that you had to make yourself. It was an interesting concept and the food tasted great.

Although they just expect you to soak the rice paper from the water from the lettuce - which means it is quite hard.

Service

Quick efficient service.

Like other restaurants within Westfields - it's a mix between a food court and a casual restaurant.

Location

Located in the upstairs foodcourt of the new Westfields (well maybe no longer new).

It's one of the later restaurants.

They have some seating inside - shared tables but feels quiet comfortable.

East to eat alone.

Cost

Slightly more expensive than your average Vietnamese but also seems a lot cleaner. The kitchen is transparent so you can actually see the cooking.

Dishes range from $10-20.

A home delivery service for crab. have to love it. costs about $20 aud per kg and comes in buckets. takes about 45 min for delivery.

this is a cafe located within the childrens hospital at westmead. the food is okay but servings are small relative to the price given it is the western suburbs. this was a vegetable stack

located in the bakehouse quarter
it specialises in beef bone soup. good value although the sides are slightly limited

Fresh fruit tart

i have taken up dessert cooking recently and this is my first attempt at making pastry and also my first creme patissiere. the pastry was beautiful but the creme patissiere with a whole vanilla bean just had too strong taste of vanilla for my liking.

i also tried with yoghurt

Located in the middle of the shopping centre in front of woolworths - actually provides a good rest spot!

Chili Jam Gladesville

lovely atmosphere and beautiful food. and parking just out front. had the mixed entree for $8.90, and the chicken pad thai and prawn with chili jam sauce. everything was beautifully presented and servings just right.

Oatland House Carlingford

i have been here for many a weddings and once previously for the buffet. the quality of the buffet has improved significantly and at $40 per person which includes all u can eat crabs, oysters and prawns plus some sashimi is really good value. its rather classy and lots of people hold functions.

lunch with friends. lots of interesting itens on the menu. the desserts were beautiful.
