Bear Brasserie Westmead

this is a cafe located within the childrens hospital at westmead. the food is okay but servings are small relative to the price given it is the western suburbs. this was a vegetable stack

Club Bobos Rhodes

when we walked in we couldnt find a table to sit at because none of the tables had been cleared. we just ended up sitting at an uncleared table outside and we had to request the table to be cleared. then the food - the burger and drink was $9.90 and meat was dry and drenched with bbq sauce. but still edible. chips were $3 and we okay. tasted a bit home cooked.

then the eggs benedict with salmon. the smoked salmon had been cooked - so now very dry. no sauce provided and a salad with caesar dressing??

Pancakes Plus Cafe Bankstown

Pancakes have to be one of my favourite breakfast foods.
But I also like to eat them randomly during the day.
Anyway whilst working a short stint in Bankstown I discovered the pancake cafe in Bankstown Centro.
Next to the fruit shop, quite dimly lit, casual eatery.
Had the lemon pancakes.
They're not as fluffy as the ones at Pancakes on the Rocks and after eating one I wonder if they were slightly underdone.
But anyway enough to fill my pancake craving.

Oliver Brown Chocolate Cafe Top Ryde

Hidden in one of the tunnels along the Piazza at Top Ryde Shopping Centre, this is a chocolate cafe good for a post meal stop.
Being a keen waffle fan - and loving the ones from Max Brenner, tried the waffles here.
Not sure if they are made on premises, but they were the tough Belgian type.
Smothered with chocolate.
Must say I like the Max Brenner ones better.

Quite a lot of mothers with prams so not the best place to catch up on reading.

Garran Bakery Cafe

Known for its cakes
Just looks like an ordinary bakery with your morning rush of tradies wanting their meat pies
Had a croissant and juice for breakfast

Cosmorex Coffee Canberra

My hubby is absolutely obsessed with coffee
So while in Canberra he insisted on driving to Cosmorex - to get his fresh roast
Anyway I'm one of those people who go to a coffee place and orders a hot chocolate - great creamy texture to the milk though

Victoria Room Centrepoint

2011 December
I had an extended lunch break so I thought I'd have myself a cup of tea at the Victoria Room.
Most of the tables were reserved so I managed to get myself a seat along the edge.
It is right in the centre of the shopping centre so it's more for socialising than for a quiet cup of tea.

Most of the tables were having high tea.
I asked for a Rose Garden tea which wasn't available, so China Sencha had to do.

Price 7/10
Taste 6/10 - it's just tea after all
Service 7/10
Ambience 5/10 - tea cups were pretty, but there was a puddle of tea on the next table which wasn't cleaned up until someone wanted to sit there
